The Select Board has Continued to Violate the Public’s Trust by Executing and Now Extending a Land Disposition Agreement with a Private Developer to Sell the Beal School 4 Acre Site in Our Cherished Town Center.

The Sale Price of $250,000 for four acres is ridiculously low, and is not fiscally prudent.

Since the Town has dealt with only one developer the proposal lacks competition, creativity and alternative options.

Shrewsbury has hundreds of rental units currently being constructed, and should not be selling a valuable town asset for an additional 55 apartments.

This proposal will add to the traffic nightmare in the town center.

We are destroying a landmark property in a premier location forever.

The playground and the ball field will be gone and will no longer benefit our youth.

Using the site for much needed parking will no longer be an option.
